Abstract

Foam concrete material is formed from a mixture of foaming agent, cement, sand, water and other additional materials that may be needed. The main challenge faced in using foam concrete is that its compressive strength tends to be lower than conventional concrete, thus limiting its use in structures that require high strength. Aditton H.E is an additive that is known to improve the bonds between particles in concrete mixtures, so it is hoped that it can increase the density and strength of foam concrete. The addition of this additive can produce foam concrete with better mechanical properties without sacrificing its main advantage as a lightweight material. In this research, an experimental method was used with a ratio of 1PC:1PS and a percentage of foam agent (FA) of 30%, 40% and 50% with a percentage of Additon H.E additive of 0.4%. The results of the study showed that the addition of Additon H.E resulted in a decrease in the quality of the foam concrete produced, with the use of FA 30% there was a decrease in quality of 69.79%, FA 40% decreased by 73.14% and FA 50% decreased by 48.16% at the age of 28 days, while the density produced by using Additon H.E tends to have a lighter density than without using Additon HE, however, the foam concrete produced from all mix models is included in the lightweight concrete category (<1900 kg/m3)
