Analisa Penilaian Kenyamanan Kapal Penumpang di Perairan Selat Melaka (Studi Kasus Kapal MV. Dumai Line 12)
Abstract
The comfort of a ship is a crucial aspect in the operation of passenger vessels as part of the national transportation fleet. Currently, the government has not given much attention to the issue of ship comfort, which is affected by the ship's motion. However, discomfort caused by such motion can lead to seasickness for both crew and passengers, which may result in accidents involving the ship or passengers. The assessment of passenger ship comfort in this study was conducted using a questionnaire, with the number of questionnaires determined by the SLOVIN method. The method used to determine discomfort was based on the calculation of Motion Sickness Incidence (MSI). The measurement results show that the MSI in the bow section is 8%, while in the midship it is 33%.
