Penerapan Mosquitto MQTT Bridge pada Sistem IoT dengan Raspberry Pi sebagai Gateway
Abstract
In the Internet of Things (IoT) era, the need for efficient and lightweight communication between devices is crucial. The Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) protocol has become one of the main standards for communication in IoT networks due to its lightweight and reliable nature. However, as the complexity of IoT networks increases, mechanisms are needed to connect multiple MQTT brokers to communicate with each other. One available solution is the use of the Mosquitto MQTT Bridge, which allows for integration between multiple IoT networks through a bridge between MQTT brokers. This research explores the application of Mosquitto MQTT Bridge in connecting two MQTT brokers running on Raspberry Pi devices as IoT gateways. By configuring the bridge on Mosquitto brokers, data received by one broker can be forwarded and published by another broker. The main goal of this research is to test the performance of the Mosquitto MQTT Bridge in terms of reliability and effectiveness in a distributed IoT network scenario. The results of this study indicate that the Mosquitto MQTT Bridge is effective in facilitating communication between MQTT brokers, allowing for more structured and distributed IoT data management. Additionally, this study identifies several technical challenges related to configuration and scalability that could be further evaluated in the future.
