Pengembangan User Interface Aplikasi CBT Polbeng Berfokus pada Kesederhanaan dan Fungsionalitas untuk Meningkatkan Efisiensi Pengguna
Abstract
The swift progression of information technology has compelled educational institutions to transition from conventional examination methods to computer-based testing (CBT). Politeknik Negeri Bengkalis (Polbeng) is an institution that has adopted the Computer-Based Test (CBT) technique for its student selection procedure. Although this system has numerous benefits, including enhanced efficiency and less human error, user experience is a vital element in its success. This research seeks to enhance the user interface (UI) of the Polbeng CBT application, emphasizing simplicity and utility to improve user efficiency. The development process employs an iterative design methodology, supplemented by usability testing with the System Usability Scale (SUS) to assess user satisfaction with the enhanced interface. The findings indicate that a straightforward and effective interface markedly enhances user efficiency in executing computer-based assessments. A SUS score of 80 demonstrates this, indicating elevated acceptance and satisfaction levels among users. User feedback indicates that the streamlined design enhances navigation and diminishes cognitive burden during testing. We anticipate that this UI improvement will positively impact the quality of Polbeng's CBT system and enhance the overall user experience
