Abstract

Selatbaru Indah Beach is one of the tourist beaches in Bengkalis Regency, located in Bantan District, 22 km from Bengkalis City. The current situation the seawall structure has a slope of 1:3 is during high tide and strong winds, waves run up the top of the seawall, causing seawater to surge onto the land. This research will conduct experiments by creating a prototype based on field survey data and laboratory scale, including the seawall dimensions, water level, and wave height, with a scale ratio of 1:10. Create prototypes of sloped seawalls and stepped-type seawalls with the same slope is 1:3. The goal is to determine which type of seawall is more effective in attenuating waves, uses field observation methods with surveys of building conditions and wave and tidal data from other sources. Wave height data is 0.5 m with HWL 2.45 m, LWL 0.03 m, wave period is 2.7 seconds, freeboard height is 0.45 m. The results of the analysis for the sloped seawall can reduce wave height 0,35 % and stepped-type seawall is able to reduce 0,54 %. The results show that the stepped-type seawall is more effective in reducing wave height compared to the sloped-side seawall.
