Abstract

The factor of safety and stability during aircraft operating conditions is influenced by the location of the center of gravity (CG) which is measured in the weight and balance (W&B) process. Therefore, an instrument system is needed to assist and facilitate the process of W&B aircraft in determining its CG range. The results of the analysis of literature studies and observations resulted in the design of electronic system circuit designs and W&B instrument web programs. Load cell calibration is done by determining the calibration factor, then entered into the Arduino program for conditioning the measurement values. Testing the instrument system is carried out by weighing the basic empty weight of the Cessna 172N aircraft directly and displaying the measurement value on the web. The onboard weight configuration and CG location calculations are based on the Pilot's Operating Handbooks (POH) and Cessna 172N Type Certificate Data Sheet (TCDS) documents. The W&B measuring instrument system will process the data and display the results of the calculation of the CG location calculation in the form of a web display. Some of the conditions that will be displayed are the conditions of ramp weight, take-off weight, and landing weight in the CG range chart.
