Abstract

Good surface quality of the product in the machining process is also influenced by cutting parameters, among others: cutting speed, feeding, and also the depth of the meal. The right setting and selection of cutting parameters is a factor that influences the quality of machining results and more optimal machining conditions. From this matter, this research was conducted with the aim to determine the surface roughness with variations in feeding and also the variation and effectiveness of coolant variations on surface roughness. This research was carried out by carrying out a CNC Router milling process on Aluminum Sheet 1100 which was assessed from the surface roughness results with variations in feeding motion, depth of cut and coolant. The results of the study are the largest surface roughness values ​​that occur in the second parameter with feeding (f) 30 mm / min, depth of cut (a) 0.1 mm, and coolant coolant measured average surface roughness of 2.999 μm. The results of the analysis of variance (ANOVA) state that there is no significant factor in the level of surface roughness, but the data states that the depth of the cut is the most contributing factor in the level of surface roughness, it can be seen from the P-value produced smaller of these three factors.
