Abstract

In the industrial world, DC motors play an important role in running a process in an industry, one example is a DC motor on a conventional lathe or a modern lathe that has implemented CNC in its system. The disadvantage of conventional DC motors is that the brushes run out quickly if the DC motor is used continuously. To fix the problem, there is another substitute, namely brushless DC motors that have high speed and better efficiency when compared to conventional DC motors. The purpose of this research is to realize a control system to control and monitor the speed of a brushless DC motor based on Labview software and for this DC motor speed control system using open loop control whose readings are not used as feedback. Based on the results of experiments that have been carried out by setting the set point 12500-25500 RPM, the highest average error is 11% at set points 24500 RPM and 25500 RPM, for the lowest average error of 2.020 % at set point 13000 RPM.
