Abstract

Pulau Payung Market is busiest traditional markets located in the middle of Dumai City so it has a high level of activity that affects the performance of Jalan Sultan Hasanudin and Jalan Pangeran Diponegoro. This study aims to determine traffic flow, road performance, and the effect of side resistance that occur during rush hour on vehicle speed on the road at Pulau Payung Market. The data analysis method used the Indonesian Road Capacity Manual (MKJI 1997) and multiple linear regression statistical tests. The results of the traffic volume on Jalan Sultan Hasanudin Direction 1 the densest traffic volume occurs on Sundays with a Q/C value of 0.49 LOS level C, in Direction 2 it occurs on Mondays with a Q/C value of 0.50 LOS level C. And on Jalan Pangeran Diponegoro Direction 3 the heaviest traffic volume occurs on Friday with a Q/C value of 0.41 LOS level B, in Direction 4 it occurs on Friday with a Q/C value of 0.39 LOS level B. The results of the multiple linear regression model analysis of the relationship between speed and side resistance for Jalan Sultan Hasanudin has an R2 value of 96.3 %, and on Jalan Pangeran Diponegoro it has an R2 value of 82.3 %. So it is necessary to control the side barriers to improve traffic performance
