Abstract

Generally in the industry, the induction motor is more widely used than the direct current motor. Due to the characteristic of induction motor that are sturdy, realible, easy in maintenance, and the prices are relatively cheap, but control system in induction motor is more complicated than the direct current motor, the problem is caused by the complexity of the induction motor dynamics, and it needs complex algorithm to solve. Based on the problems, the author try to do research in induction motor by using Sliding Mode Control (SMC) methods with Genetic Algorithm. Genetic Algorithm is designed to optimized the parameter of Sliding Mode Control (SMC), namely (gain K) is optimal, in order to overcome the shortage in conventional Direct Torque Control (DTC), which is still causing high-ripple flux’s fluctuation dan high-ripple torque’s fluctuation during in steady state, the result from the design system with the methode that is proposed, can control the speed rotation of induction motor according to the references given at 1000 rpm the settling time is 0,6282 seconds, and can minimize the ripple flux’s fluctuation and the ripple torque’s fluctuation.
